So I bought these little nail stickers whilst I was in Japan earlier this year. Whilst I am a total nail polish addict, I don’t do fake nails. This is mostly since I’m a pianist, I need short neat nails at all times. But it was too cute not to buy, and a few months later I bought myself a small collection of nails to paint and this was the result! I love love the way these look, so girly! But I was pretty much an inelegant mess as I tried to set up my camera and later on remove my makeup. (Surprised I didn’t end up taking out my own eye)

Whilst I’m on the topic of inelegant messes, glitter how I love/hate you. I think this is just an area of makeup I’ll need to keep working on. A fine balance between the amount of glitter vs the amount of adhesive, plus method of application. Ah yes, a fine art indeed.

Many friends have been asking me for opinions on a good loose powder/compact powder. Personally, I’ve not tried that many brands of loose powder to give an accurate judgment of which is good or bad. So all I can do is just to give my 2 cents worth about the loose powder I’m currently using and some other brands of loose powders which I might be interested to try out and what I’ve tried and found it not so bad afterall.

For girls who don’t already know the importance of using a loose powder, it is to set your makeup and allow your makeup to stay fresh without excessive shine or oil for as long as possible. Many loose powder also gives you decent coverage that you need as well.

If you are using BB cream instead of the normal foundation like me, it is still necessary to use a loose powder after BB cream because many people do find BB cream sticky. By applying it with loose powder, the sticky texture of the cream would be smoother and not sticky.

I bought this product in Taiwan, which comes from the same diamond family as my BB cream. Remember what I said about my BB cream? It’s as though I’m applying diamond on my face cos it gives me a dewy glowy skin! And in this case, it is a face compact enriched with Diamond powder, Jewel Complex, Powder of Ruby and Amethyst for a radiant glow.

The finely milled powder blots out oil to keep skin looking perfectly matte and fresh for hours. It has SPF 30 to help block out harmful UVA and UVB rays to protect skin from darkening and premature aging.

Personally, I find this powder very translucent and light. It doesn’t seem like I’m applying anything on my face yet it is still able to help even out my skin tone. It doesn’t gives a totally matte finish yet blots out excess shine which I must rave about cos I’m not into 100% matte finish anymore. I like to have some glow on my face just like any porcelain doll! I find its oil control properties normal and I think there will be other loose powder that can do a even better job in oil controlling.

Next up, it’s ZA Groovy Smoovy Oil Blotting Powder

This is a great product for touching up on the go as it is so small and compact! As the name suggests, it helps to control oil, greasiness and shine to create a silky smooth skin. When your face starts to get oily and need a re-touch, simply blot your face with a tissue paper or oil blotting paper and apply this powder thereafter.

And indeed, my skin feels very smooth after applying this powder. The oil controlling properties are extremely good! It does helps to keep my face shine and oil-free for at least 3 to 4 hours! However, the downside is that it can become cakey and very powdery if you apply too much near your nose area.

Palgantong Theatrical Powder is something I might want to try in the near future

I would apply my loose powder with the sponge provided on my T-zone area for more coverage cos it gets oily easily. And dust the powder with a brush on the rest of the face for a natural and lighter coverage.

After a visit to the dermatologist it was determined most of my acne was make-up related. The dermatologist recommended trying a mineral product to see if the perfume free formula would work. In her office, they promoted Glo Minerals. I had never heard of the Glo Minerals makeup line before but I was willing to give it a try.

I purchased the eyeliner (black) and a powder foundation with application brush. The foundation was by far the best I have ever used. This foundation goes on smoothly and almost effortlessly. Glo Minerals foundation gives excellent coverage to blemishes and dark under-eye circles. I was beyond impressed. Although I spent $32 on just the foundation, I felt this particular foundation was worth it. I wear make up almost daily and the one jar of foundation I purchased from this line lasted me months. Very little is needed for coverage making the product last even longer. I had never tried a mineral makeup before but Glo Minerals made me a believer. 

The line of cosmetics offers all shades of foundation in liquid, pressed powder, and loose powder. I personally prefer the loose powder but all of which seem to work equally well. The line offers shades from porcelain for the extremely fair skinned to natural dark for the darker skinned women out there. I found it easy to choose a shade for me with all the options available. The shades they offer do not vary greatly so even if you are not sure, go with a shade closest to what you normally wear in other brands and it is most likely going to blend. 

This particular foundation also has a tint of bronzor in it to give you a little more of a glow (hence the name glominerals). I did not like the bronzor in it just because I do not like the “sparkly” effect a bronzor gives your face. I am not sure if they offer any shades without the bronzor in it. 

 Overall this line of products is well worth the money I put into it. This is the only line of makeup products I will use.

PET, PVC Glitter Powder:

The product is made of vacuum metal quality polyester film. Its color layer is thermosetting epoxy cross-linking layer, which can produce a wide range of colors. Glitter powder is used for wood, paper, cloth, metal , leather goods, ceramics and other materials in the way of screen printing, coating, spray method, thus forming special and eye-catching effects of decoration or reflection. PVC material gitter powder has no resistance to high temperature (60℃), acid and alkali, while PET material glitter powder has resistance to high temperature (170 ℃), acid and alkali.

The product is composed of very thin aluminum foil with its color combination of an outer layer of thermosetting epoxy layer cross. Huntoon Glitter is applicable to many soluble materials, it can also be dry coating. Metal quality Glitter is an ideal material for plastic products, has a resistance to temperature of 250 ℃, acid and alkali.

 Symphony Series Glitter:

The product is a unique symphony glitter powder, non-metallic components, but due to the optical properties of polymer films that composes the product, thus the product has a metal changes color and gloss, with a clear color change. Symphony Series Glitter is particularly suitable for printing, craft trades, making product full of color changes.
