introducing t-shirt patterns for the whole family
A few months back, I mentioned that we were working on a simple T-shirt pattern since we hadn’t created one yet, despite numerous requests from many of you. When our spring collection patterns launched last month, quite a few of you were curious about its absence. As we were busy designing the kids' T-shirt, we began thinking it would be great to have a women's version as well. This led us to consider creating a men's T-shirt design too. Before we realized it, we had developed an entire family of T-shirt patterns—ones for women, men, older kids, and younger ones.
Here they are now: four brand-new digital T-shirt patterns. For the kids’ designs, we went with the name “School Bus T-Shirt.†Since adults typically don’t ride the school bus, we picked another form of public transport and called the adult versions the “Men’s Metro T-Shirt†and the “Women’s Metro T-Shirt.â€
These are your go-to basic T-shirts that you can wear day after day. The women’s T-shirt features a sleek, flattering fit with a neckline that strikes the perfect balance—neither too high nor too low. The men’s T-shirt is neither overly loose nor tight. Both the men’s and women’s patterns come with options for short and long sleeves.
The kids’ T-shirt patterns offer even more variety. Alongside the classic unisex short and long sleeves, we’ve introduced a more feminine short-capped sleeve option with a narrower neckband for the girls. This means the kids have three distinct styles to choose from—how lucky are they?
If you're new to sewing with knits, this is an excellent pattern to begin with. Contrary to popular belief, knits are easier to work with than you might think, and you don’t necessarily need a serger to achieve great results. Our patterns (just like all our knit patterns) guide you through sewing with both a regular sewing machine and a serger, offering plenty of tips and tricks to help you succeed, from start to finish.
