DGVI women's brand debut China International Fashion Week
Recently, at the Spring and Summer 2010 China International Fashion Week press conference, the international women's brand DGVI unveiled over 60 new collections under its new theme "Manhattan Ladies." The event featured more than 30 top international models, including renowned Chinese supermodel Mo Wan Dan, who showcased the latest designs with elegance and flair. Founded in 1995 in Italy by chief designer Li Zhilong, DGVI has long been known for its signature leopard patterns and cowboy-inspired styles. This season’s collection continued to reflect that classic aesthetic, reinforcing the brand’s consistent design philosophy.
Since its launch, DGVI women's wear has experienced steady market growth, gaining popularity among fashion-conscious consumers. In 2005, the brand officially entered the Chinese market, establishing a state-of-the-art garment factory in Shenzhen with a dedicated team of innovators. To date, DGVI has opened around 70 stores across China, with 70% being franchise locations and 30% directly operated. These stores have performed well, building a loyal customer base.
In August of this year, DGVI successfully expanded into high-end retail by entering Hangzhou Tower, one of China’s most prestigious shopping destinations. Looking ahead, the brand plans to increase its domestic presence to around 150 stores within the next few years. Li Zhilong expressed confidence in the Chinese market, noting its vast potential and strong consumer spending power.
DGVI aims to use events like the China International Fashion Week to connect more closely with local consumers, introducing them to its unique style and craftsmanship. At the same time, the brand hopes to exchange ideas with industry peers and further enhance its global influence. Eventually, DGVI aspires to see its Shenzhen-made garments displayed in flagship stores across Milan, Florence, and Paris, and ultimately showcase its collections on the global stage at the Milan International Fashion Week.
