Chinese consumers have started noticing a shift in Adidas stores. No longer limited to basic sportswear, these stores now offer a range of stylish, high-end products. Market research indicates growing demand for premium sport-fashion brands in China, and Adidas is responding accordingly. Since 2002, Adidas has been developing its "Sports Fashion Collection," collaborating with renowned Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto to create the Y-3 line. This partnership represents a bold step toward merging sport and fashion, positioning Adidas as a leader in what it calls "the future of sportswear." The Y-3 collection is not just about style—it's about redefining how people view athletic wear. The sports fashion segment includes several sub-lines: streetwear, SportFashion, SLVR, and adidasStyleEssentials. Each offers a different take on modern, fashionable athletic wear. For instance, the SLVR series focuses on simplicity and perfection, using cost-effective materials to keep prices lower than Y-3 while still appealing to a fashion-conscious audience aged 25–35.
