Similar to glass fiber, it exhibits properties that fall between high-strength S-glass fibers and alkali-free E-glass fibers. Naturally occurring basalt fibers are typically brown in color, though some varieties may appear golden. The English term for this material is "Basalt Fiber," often abbreviated as BF.
