sew social: friends who sew

<

Last month, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the second annual gathering of a delightful group of sewing bloggers in London. The previous year, they met in Paris, but this time it was London's turn to play host. It was such an exhilarating experience to connect with so many warm, friendly, and skilled women. Our weekend together flew by, and I can hardly believe it’s already been a month since our unforgettable adventure. ![London](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/623c53474d37c31f72d4ed3d99492678.jpg) ![Sew Social](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/addbb73214547c02274e6d86bebf56b3.jpg) During our visit, we naturally couldn't resist indulging in some fabric shopping. Among all the stores we visited, my absolute favorite was Cloth House. Their collection of textiles was simply breathtaking—Japanese ikats, indigo-dyed fabrics, traditional sashiko pieces, along with an impressive selection of high-quality linens, denims, and other exquisite fabrics. I'm already planning a future trip to London just to explore this treasure trove of textiles again. Although I usually don't get easily overwhelmed when shopping, Cloth House was something else entirely. It was hard not to be captivated by the sheer variety and quality of fabrics available. Besides Cloth House, we also paid visits to iconic spots like Liberty of London, Shaukat, and many other fabric boutiques. Along the way, we made sure to take a detour to the V&A Museum and spent a morning exploring Borough Market. One evening, we enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Arabica, located near Borough Market. Oh, and let’s not forget about visiting an English bookstore. Having been away from the U.S. for over eight months, it was a treat to browse through physical books, especially since S has been reading exclusively on her Kindle. I picked up a few paperbacks for her as a little surprise. ![Cloth House](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/b6c04a94d97a557bf3b9c12a7782a5ad.jpg) ![Liberty of London - Flowers](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/93b3512e1f6a079b08c17c53d564e559.jpg) ![Liberty of London - Fabric](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/7e2e77121ca9158102a5b40edd2462be.jpg) ![Shaukat](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/4d402d487632ec3dbd8ba3c4d7cec182.jpg) I’d like to introduce you to some of the amazing women I met during this trip.
